Fasting is such a weapon of prayer that brings you great confidence and strong charge of energy like no other. The case in the book of Esther about the Jews in the days of King Ahasuerus was a very terrible one that requires serious prayer by the people. They were under spell of Haman a palace chief, a man very jealous and with so much hatred for Mordecai who is way just a gate keeper in the palace.
Esther the fortunate queen of the time was a Jew who sorted for a desperate solution what could be a way out from the spell of this wicked palace Chief Haman. She resulted to not just prayer but fasting added to the moment to gain the heart of the king through God intervention.
“Esther sent Mordecai this reply: “Go and get all the Jews in Susa together; hold a fast and pray for me. Don’t eat or drink anything for three days and nights. My servant women and I will be doing the same. After that, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. If I must die for doing it, I will die.” Mordecai then left and did everything that Esther had told him to do.” Esther 4:15-17 (GNB)
Friend, you can achieve faster in cooperate fasting and prayer. Do not neglect the power of coming together just as Paul the Apostle as taught. “Let us be concerned for one another, to help one another to show love and to do good. Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see that the Day of the Lord is coming nearer.” Hebrews 10:24-25 (GNB)
Let us come together to help another in prayer for it is the strength of answered prayer. God really appreciate the coming together of the saint. There is no problem in involving a friend in prayer.
