The ever faithful God we thank you for this day in Jesus name. It our prayers Jehovah, that you will bring us every good tiding in the week and bless us with peace in all we do in Jesus name. Amen.

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:1-4 (kjv)
Here Paul the Apostle is bringing to the reminder of the family most especially the children the 5th commandment as stated by God through Moses. Exodus 20:12. Here God want the children obey their parents and enjoy life. This happens to be the first and only commandment with promise.
In addition, to foster peace in the family it is so important that the parent do not frustrate their children to anger which could lead them to misbehavior as Moses as also taught they train in the way of God. “Always remember these commands that I give you today. Be sure to teach them to your children. Talk about these commands when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road. Talk about them when you lie down and when you get up.” Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (ERV)
God’s family, it is of great importance that our families lives in peace and enjoy the goodness of God as promised. Yet we have lots of role to play to ensure the peaceful coexistence in the family. While the children are obedient to their parents, parent should as well obey God by taking responsibility on their children. Teach your child the way of God, you will enjoy him/her more.
