DEVELOPING PERSONAL PRAYER LIFE (Forgive and Avoid Tautology)
Matthew 6:6-13 & Matthew 7:12

Our father in heaven bless this day for you and give us peace in Jesus name. Amen.

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

As Jesus continue to teach those around Him and especially His disciple in prayer and their personal relationship with God, He told them that you don’t have to be a hypocrite before God answers your prayer. Tautology is making unnecessary repetition and doing this in the place prayer is a waste of time and distraction even if you must develop your prayer life with God. Many of us thing God is slow in hearing us so when we make repetitions it will call His attention which is actually not applicable to developing our personal prayer life.
Another thing that affects our prayer is unforgiveness, this is so much embedded in mankind and we want God to forgive us. Jesus said if you must be forgiven and your prayer answered, you must be so much ready to receive what you give to others. This is the reason he said do to others what you want them to do to you. Matthew 7:12 (self-phrased). This is a golden rule and same applicable to God because He made men/women in his image and likeness.
Guys, can you take the same think you to people? Or do you pray to God and anticipate answer to your prayer while you don’t want to see your neighbour celebrate? You are not doing well at all. If you must grow in your personal prayer life, you will have to forgive others and avoid unnecessary repetition. It is a life killer and prayer waster.
